We had 107 best times!

We had volunteers for 25 positions (including some new ones folks had never done before- kudos)!

And we had one great time cheering on and supporting all of our swimmers en route to a championship!

You all are absolutely fantastic. I am incredibly grateful for all that you do and have done to make this a great season. We've had some ups and downs, hot days and rainy, stormy ones, but through it all you have supported us and one another. THANK YOU!

A quick run-down on the meet:
While things started somewhat chaotic due to technical issues, it quickly ran very smoothly. The races were great, and our kids really dug deep in some of them and pulled out great times. Fools in the Pool was a lot of fun (especially getting to run a little interference on Black Mountain's coach- fun pay back for Tuesday!), and we had more participate in that than we have had in a while. We were the third largest team there, but we certainly had the biggest presence.

Earning medley relay titles were the 9-10 Boys medley relay of Quintyn Reasoner, Tate Jensen, Taylor Lennex and Jacob Mull; the 11-12 Boys medley relay of Trey Jensen, Jacob Jensen, Braxton Reinhardt, and Clay Davis; the 13-14 Girls medley relay of Dessie Maiella, Caroline Lucas, Magdolynn Reasoner, and Samantha Robinson; the 15-18 Girls medley relay of Rebekah Qurollo, Grace Lucas, Morgan Hall, and Julia Daniel; and the 15-18 Boys medley relay of Nelson Dominguez, Samuel Kuehnert, Tanner Gilbert, and Brett Walker.

In the freestyle relays,we won with the Boys 8 and Under relay of Thatcher Gilbert, Logan Malsom, Jesiah Drayton, and Sam Jensen; the 9-10 Girls relay of Allyson Auton, Jade Moyer, Ava Jensen, and Kenley Berry, 11-12 Boys Relay of Trey Jensen, Clay Davis, Braxton Reinhardt, and Jacob Jensen; the 13-14 Girls relay of Caroline Lucas, Magdolynn Reasoner, Rachel Wood, and Samantha Robinson; the 15-18 Girls relay of Grace Lucas, Kloey Merck, Morgan Hall, and Julia Daniel, and the 15-18 Boys relay of Nelson Dominguez, Samuel Kuehnert, Brett Walker, and Tanner Gilbert.

In the individual events, we claimed gold with swims by Grace Lucas (Girls 200 Free, 15-18 Girls 100 Free, 100 Breaststroke), Brett Walker (Boys 200 Free, 15-18 Boys 200 IM, 100 Free), Kaisity Jones (6&U Girls 25 Free), Sarah Mull (9-10 Girls 50 Free), Jacob Jensen (11-12 Boys 50 Free, 100 Free, 50 Breaststroke), Samantha Robinson (13-14 Girls 50 Free, 100 Backstroke, 100 Butterfly), Alex Lennex (13-14 Boys 50 Free, 100 Backstroke), Julia Daniel (15-18 Girls 50 Free, 100 Backstroke, 100 Butterfly), Caroline Lucas (13-14 Girls 200 IM, 100 Free, 100 Breaststroke), Rhyannon Reasoner (11-12 Girls 50 Backstroke), Trey Jensen (11-12 Boys 50 Backstroke), Nelson Dominguez (15-18 Boys 100 Backstroke, 100 Butterfly), Tate Jensen (9-10 Boys 100 Free, 50 Breaststroke), Sam Jensen (8&U Boys 25 Butterfly), Braxton Reinhardt (11-12 Boys 50 Butterfly), and Landon Lennex (13-14 Boys 100 Butterfly).

I hope you all will join us this coming Saturday at Rotary Park at 5pm for our potluck. I'll be sending out another sign-up genius link for that, as well as the end-of-the-year survey shortly. We'll also have pictures, ribbons from the season, trophies, and any t-shirts that you ordered that may not have been picked up.

Thank you all again! I truly can't say it enough! I look forward to celebrating with you all on Saturday!

Video Tutorials for our CTS 5!

Good morning, Torpedo!

We're going to have a few new folks running our timing system on Saturday, so I wanted to go ahead and put together a series of videos to help learn how to use the system in the two-button configuration (no pads). I'll handle all of the set ups to make sure lanes and events are set ahead of time, so these videos are just for running races. I also have written a brief set of instructions to use as a cheat sheet which I'll send out and have on deck at the meet.

So, without further ado (and no editing), here are our video tutorials:

Heading into the Final Week!

Good morning, Torpedo!

This is the start of Championship Week for us, culminating with the League Championship meet one week from today. By now, if you are planning to swim in both Tuesday's and Saturday's meets, you should have signed up. I'll be finalizing everything this weekend.

Here are a few things for this week:
1. Practices are very important. If you are around and able to make it, please make every effort to do so. We will be really focusing on racing strategies and fine-tuning stroke technique, particularly among our younger swimmers.
2. Please try to get your swimmers to hydrate all week and and get good rest. Saturday doesn't look as hot as last year's meet, but it is still in our best interest to have everyone as rested and hydrated as possible.
3. We are going to need volunteers on Saturday to do a lot of things. We have most of our more specialized positions filled, but we will need timers and a few other jobs for the meet. I'll have a more complete list of our responsibilities later this week.

4. Timing system training: I'm going to put together a quick how-to document for everyone. Anyone interested in getting their hands on the machine before Saturday will have a chance Friday after the spaghetti dinner.
5. Friday is our team dinner! I will have a sign up on Monday for folks to sign up to bring noodles, bread, sauce (meat and veggie), salad, and water. PLEASE do not bring desserts. We want the best fuel in the swimmers for Saturday!
6. Saturday morning at 6am will be the first time you can set up tents for the day. Each team will have an assigned area to set up. When we know exactly where that will be, I will let you know.
7. PACK A COOLER! Bring some shade, share a tent with a friend, and bring water and healthy snacks (fruit, bagels, peanut butter, Clif bars) for your swimmers. After each swim, your swimmers need to consume some healthy sugars to keep levels even. This will make a big difference as we progress through the meet, and times will suffer if you aren't taking care of yourself. We want to win, so don't neglect this aspect of the day! Stay away from heavy foods like pizza or fried food.

THIS IS A BIG WEEK! LET'S DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO END IT WITH A CHAMPIONSHIP!
