Good afternoon, Torpedo!
We wrapped up the week with back to back meets in the heat. I'm excited for how well everyone did at both meets, and the back and forth with the score on Saturday was exciting! Teammates worked well together to support each other, and a lot of our newer swimmers had great swims for their first meets.
This week, we have a meet Thursday at Marion with the McDowell Mariners and a home meet Saturday against Black Mountain and Forest City.
The meet in Marion is at the McDowell County Rec in Marion, located at 25 Academy St, Marion NC. Warm ups are at 5:30pm and the meet starts at 6pm. This is our first time at this pool since it was rebuilt and reconfigured by McDowell Parks and Rec. It would be great to have a good showing of swimmers and volunteers for the meet. Entries are due for Thursday by Tuesday night. Remember, there is a requirement to swim at an away meet to be able to swim at Champs, and this is a good opportunity to swim an away meet.
Saturday's meet against Black Mountain and Forest City will be a big meet with good competition, and we need to have a great showing. Entries for Saturday are due by Thursday at noon. We have had a lot of fun meets with these teams, and I think this will be another great edition!
I will send a SignUp Genius for volunteers for both meets later this week.
Additionally, I will have a sign up for another run of t-shirts at the pool counter starting Tuesday morning. I'll plan to order them on Friday, June 26. Shirts are $15. Please pay the counter attendant with your order.
